C2events is seeking an experienced Venue Sourcing Manager to lead and develop our Venue Sourcing team while delivering exceptional venue solutions for meetings, conferences, incentives, and events around the world. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on venue sourcing expertise. You'll oversee complex sourcing projects, strengthen supplier partnerships, drive team performance, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our business. What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop the Venue Sourcing team through coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
  • Manage complex venue sourcing projects from initial client brief through contract execution.
  • Provide consultative venue recommendations aligned with client objectives, budgets, and event requirements.
  • Conduct venue and destination research across domestic and international markets.
  • Negotiate competitive rates, favorable contract terms, and added value with venues and suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hotels, venues, destination management companies, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate closely with Event Managers, Account Managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Monitor team performance, commercial results, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive process improvements and support the adoption of sourcing technology and best practices.
  • Contribute to departmental strategy, business development initiatives, and overall agency growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience in venue sourcing within the meetings, events, hospitality, or agency sector.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, mentoring, or managing team members.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international venues and destination markets.
  • Proven experience negotiating venue contracts, supplier agreements, and commercial terms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of profitability drivers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated-industry clients is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Cvent or other venue sourcing platforms is a plus.

Role Description The Event Executive is a full-time, hybrid role based in Wakefield, with flexibility for partial work from home. This position is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of live and virtual events, including venue sourcing, supplier liaison, delegate registration, and travel arrangements. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining project timelines, preparing event documentation, managing event data in relevant software and apps, and providing clear communication to clients, delegates, and internal teams. The Event Executive will assist with on-site event delivery, including registration, logistics, and production coordination, helping ensure smooth execution and a positive attendee experience. The role also involves monitoring budgets, preparing reports on event performance and ROI/ROO, and contributing ideas to enhance delegate engagement and event quality.

Qualifications

  • Experience in event coordination or event management, including planning, logistics, and onsite delivery.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client, supplier, and delegate interaction.
  • Proficiency with event management software, virtual event platforms, and standard office applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Comfort working with budgets, contracts, and supplier negotiations to support cost-effective event delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating in the Wakefield office and independently from home.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality delegate experiences.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare events and familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for onsite event support and work flexible hours when required by event schedules.
  • Relevant education or training in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field is beneficial.
