_Live Sound / Lighting Engineers

Role Description (SOUND)

The Live Sound Engineer is a contract, on-site role based in Worcester, but also UK wide, and including some foreign work into other countries, working with tribute shows, in theatres.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of audio during live events. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and testing PA systems, consoles, microphones, and monitoring equipment, performing sound checks with performers and presenters, and mixing live audio to ensure clear, balanced sound for audiences and on-stage talent. The role also involves troubleshooting audio issues in real time, coordinating with clients and other technical crew, and safely packing down and maintaining audio equipment after events. The Live Sound Engineer is expected to follow event schedules, adhere to safety protocols, and deliver professional, customer-focused service in a variety of event environments.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Live Sound and Audio Engineering skills, including experience with FOH and monitor mixing.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with Microphones and Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including setup, routing, and basic troubleshooting.
• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Music and performance environments, enabling effective collaboration with artists and presenters.
• Candidates should possess practical knowledge of gain structure, EQ, dynamics processing, and acoustic considerations in live venues.
• Candidates should possess good communication and teamwork abilities, with a customer-service mindset and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
• Candidates should possess the ability to work on-site in Worcester, but also travelling UK wide, and staying away from home, including foreign travel. You may also need to stand for extended periods and handle moderate lifting of equipment.
• Relevant experience in live events, touring, theatre, or venue-based sound engineering is beneficial; technical certifications or audio-related training are a plus.
• A Basic, and working knowledge of QLAB would be appreciated, but training can be given.
• A Full UK Driving License is Required. This role will require driving UK wide, in a 3.5T Van.
• Requirement to work evenings, weekends, and variable schedules as required by events.

Role Description (LIGHTING)

The Lighting Engineer will be responsible for planning, installing, programming, and operating lighting systems for a range of events including working on touring tribute shows in Theatres, UK Wide, and in foreign countries. This is an on-site role based in Worcester, but also UK wide, and including some foreign work into other countries, working with tribute shows, in theatres. It also involves working closely with event coordinators, production teams, and other technicians to translate creative concepts into effective lighting designs. Day-to-day tasks include setting up lighting fixtures and control consoles, configuring LED and conventional lighting equipment, testing and troubleshooting systems, and ensuring safe cabling and rigging practices. The Lighting Engineer will run lighting cues during rehearsals and live events, adjust designs based on venue conditions, and maintain equipment before and after each event.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Lighting Control and operation of lighting consoles (Avolites/ETC).
• Candidates should possess skills in Lighting Design and creating event-appropriate lighting looks.
• Candidates should possess skills in LED Lighting Systems and general Lighting technologies.
• Experience in live events, theatre, concerts, or corporate productions.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, rigging basics, and industry-standard practices.
• Ability to interpret technical plots and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Requirement to work evenings, weekends, and variable schedules as required by events.
• Relevant technical training or certification in lighting or production; comparable experience is highly valued.
• A Basic, and working knowledge of QLAB would be appreciated, but training can be given.
• A Full UK Driving License is Required. This role will require driving UK wide, in a 3.5T Van.

CONTRACT LENGTH

We are looking to start with a 12 Month Contract, with the intention to extend this after 12 Months.

£15/Hour Starting Rate, based on a 40 Hour Week.

Additional Hours can be claimed either as agreed overtime, or balanced via TOIL (Time off in Leu)
